Indore has once again proven why it's India's pride in cleanliness. The city has been awarded the Cleanest City in India title for the seventh consecutive year in the Swachh Survekshan 2025 rankings announced by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
A Legacy of Cleanliness
Since 2017, Indore has consistently topped the national cleanliness survey. The city's success is attributed to the collective effort of its citizens, the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC), and innovative waste management practices.
Key Achievements
Some of the notable initiatives that helped Indore maintain its position include:
- 100% door-to-door waste collection across all 85 wards
- Bio-CNG plant converting wet waste into fuel
- Zero waste-to-landfill status maintained since 2021
- Community-driven cleanliness campaigns every weekend
Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav credited the citizens of Indore for making cleanliness a way of life rather than just a campaign.
