Indore Metro Phase 2 Gets Central Government Approval

In a major boost to Indore's infrastructure, the central government has given the green light to Indore Metro Rail Phase 2. The project, estimated at Rs 8,500 crore, will significantly expand the city's metro network.
Route Details
Phase 2 will cover approximately 28 kilometers with two new corridors:
- Corridor 3: Rajwada to Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport (18 km)
- Corridor 4: Palasia to Super Corridor (10 km)
Timeline
Construction is expected to begin by Q3 2026, with the first corridor targeted for completion by 2029. The project will create an estimated 15,000 direct and indirect jobs during the construction phase.
Indore MP Shankar Lalwani said this approval marks a transformative moment for the city's public transportation infrastructure.
